Privacy notice

Only what an underwriter needs in order to quote. The quote form asks for it up front rather than after a phone call, so nothing is gathered without you seeing it.

• Contact details: your name, email address and phone number, and your postal address.
• Vessel details: type, make and model, year built, length, hull material, flag, agreed value and home berth.
• Cruising details: the areas and countries you plan to navigate, and any notes you add.
• Operating details: your experience, qualifications, and any claims or declarations you tell us about.
• Technical data: your IP address, used to rate-limit the form against automated abuse, and held only for that purpose.
• We do not ask for payment-card details, identity documents or health data anywhere on this site.

Your enquiry has to travel along the distribution chain to be quoted at all. These are the only recipients, and none of them is an advertiser.

• AKD Insurance (A.K. Demetriou Insurance Brokers Ltd), the contracted broker in Cyprus we introduce business to.
• London Marine Insurance Services Ltd, the Lloyd's-accredited broker in the United Kingdom that arranges and places the cover (FCA firm reference 308599).
• Underwriters at Lloyd's of London, who assess the risk and would pay a valid claim.
• Resend, our email delivery provider, acting as a processor so the enquiry reaches the desk.
• Vercel, our hosting provider, acting as a processor.
• We never sell or rent your details, and we do not pass them to any other insurer, broker or comparison site.

Enquiries that do not proceed are kept for up to 24 months, so we can pick up the thread if you come back to us and so we can show what terms were quoted and when.

Where cover is placed, the record is kept for as long as the insurance relationship needs it and for the period the broker and underwriters are required to retain their own records.

Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, or to the supervisory authority where you live.
